In June 2024, Holtop supplied 12 customized rooftop units (RTUs)designed specifically to meet the extreme challenges of this application, ensuring uninterrupted operation and longevity of the plant's internal systems.   Desalination plants present perhaps the most severe operating conditions for HVAC equipment:   • Extreme Corrosion: Salt-laden air rapidly accelerates corrosion, causing standard HVAC units to fail prematurely and jeopardizing critical equipment cooling.   • Reliability is Non-Negotiable: Plant operations are 24/7. This critical infrastructure project requires robust and reliable climate control solutions to protect sensitive electrical and control equipment from a highly corrosive coastal environment. In June 2024, Holtop supplied 12 customized rooftop units (RTUs)designed specifically to meet the extreme challenges of this application, ensuring uninterrupted operation and longevity of the plant's internal systems.   Desalination plants present perhaps the most severe operating conditions for HVAC equipment:   • Extreme Corrosion: Salt-laden air rapidly accelerates corrosion, causing standard HVAC units to fail prematurely and jeopardizing critical equipment cooling.   • Reliability is Non-Negotiable: Plant operations are 24/7. Any HVAC failure can lead to shutdowns of sensitive control systems, resulting in massive financial losses and disruption of water supply.   • Harsh Climate: High ambient temperatures and intense sunlight place additional stress on cooling systems, demanding superior performance and heat rejection capabilities.   • Remote Location: Ease of maintenance and local technical support capabilities are crucial to minimize downtime.   The Holtop Solution: Engineered for Resilience      Understanding these critical needs, Holtop did not supply standard off-the-shelf products. Instead, we delivered a bespoke solution with the following specialized features:   Advanced Anti-Corrosion Protection: Marine-Grade Coating: Full-unit epoxy resin coating applied to all external and internal metal surfaces (casing,框架, drain pan, coils). Stainless Steel Components: Critical components such as screws, hinges, and drain pans were upgraded to 304 or 316 stainless steel to resist salt spray corrosion. Corrosion-Resistant Condenser Coils: Coils featured enhanced fin spacing and a special hydrophilic blue anti-corrosion coating to improve durability and maintain efficiency. 2. Robust Design for Maximum Uptime: Heavy-Duty Construction: Reinforced cabinets and structural frames to withstand high winds common in coastal areas. High-Efficiency Components: Branded compressors and ECM motors were selected for reliability, energy savings, and precise control in variable conditions.
